Chartering Sea Bear gives you five main areas of fishing. All are designed to give you, the angler, a well organised trip with a Skipper who has years of experience on the sea. Booking and formatting of the excursions to suit the anglers taste is highly recommended.

1: Deep South: Game Fishing.
This trip takes you up to 40 nautical miles out where the emphasis is hunting the Yellowfin Tuna, Skipjack Tuna, Dorado and Game Sharks like the hard fighting Mako and Atlantic Blue. There are times off the Port Elizabeth Coastline that Marlin may also be caught.

2: Night Fishing: Broadbill and Mako.
Fishing at night is a very different experience. The mighty Geelbek also feeds at night and can test one's endurance to the limit.

3: Bird Island: Game and Bottom Fishing.
This Island is 36 nautical miles from Port Elizabeth and offers very good Game Fishing for Yellowtail. There is also good bottom fishing with good catches of Red Fish, Kob, Geelbek and many other varieties.

4: St Croix Island: Bottom Fishing.
St Croix is 12 nautical miles away and offers very good Kob and Santer fishing. Close by is Sundays river mouth and then the shallow reefs off the Sundays coast where the Dageraad fishing is superb.

5: Cape Recife: Game and Bottom Fishing.
This area has very good stock fish banks and there are often Yellowtail taken as well. This is the closest fishing area being about 8 nautical miles from the harbour.

6: RIJ Banks.
These banks are 14 nautical miles from base and offer at times exceptional fishing. Geelbek, Yellow Tail and most bottom fish are taken here. There are times when the Yellow Fin Tuna come in close and feed here as well.

Number of Anglers and Costs:
We are able to accomodate a maximum of six anglers with one or two non anglers, space is limited though as space is needed to move around freely when fighting the big ones. Sadly due to regular rising of the oil costs and the current economic situation we are unable at this time to reflect appropriate costs on the website.
